TradieVolt Pty Ltd (ACN 690 582 033) of 1/151 Victoria Rd, Drummoyne NSW 2047 (TradieVolt, we, us or our) is committed to managing personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and other applicable privacy laws. For a New Zealand Customer, we also handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ), as explained under ‘New Zealand customers’ below.
This document sets out our policies for managing personal information and is referred to as our Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy forms part of our Terms and Conditions and the Agreement between TradieVolt and its customers.

What information does TradieVolt collect about you?
TradieVolt collects information from you when you complete a form on our website, place an Order for a Package or the Subscription, take part in an onboarding call, or use MyVolt.
Customers and prospective customers
When you enquire about a Package or the Subscription, place an Order, or become a customer of ours, a record is made which includes your personal information. This will typically include:
- your name, business name, ABN or ACN, email address, postal or business address, telephone number and other contact details;
- your trade, licence type and licence details (for example, an electrical contractor’s licence number), and other operational information about your business needed to customise your Customer Documents;
- your business branding, logo and other material you provide to us for incorporation into your Customer Documents;
- information about your MyVolt account, including your Subscription status, Credits balance, and the Claims, Bespoke Documents and Change Requests you make;
- limited payment-related information visible to us through MyVolt in connection with facilitating payment through Stripe, our payment processor. TradieVolt does not itself receive, store or process your full card or account details, which are collected, stored and processed by Stripe in accordance with its own terms and privacy practices; and
- any additional personal information you provide to us, or authorise us to collect, as part of your interaction with us, including during an onboarding call.
Other individuals
We may collect personal information about other individuals who are not TradieVolt customers. This includes individual contractors and Service Providers engaged by us (including offshore virtual assistants – see ‘Does TradieVolt disclose your personal information overseas?’ below); representatives of Network Affiliates; and other individuals who interact with us on a commercial basis. The kinds of personal information we collect will depend on the capacity in which you are dealing with us, and will generally include names, contact details, and information regarding our interactions and transactions with you.
You can always decline to give us any personal information we request, but that may mean we cannot provide you with some or all of a Package, the Subscription or MyVolt. If you have any concerns about personal information we have requested, please let us know.

We collect certain information such as your device type, browser type, IP address, and pages you have accessed on our websites and on third- party websites. You are not identifiable from such information.
You can use the settings in your browser to control how your browser deals with cookies. However, in doing so, you may be unable to access certain pages or content on our websites or MyVolt.

Does TradieVolt disclose your personal information to Network Affiliates or Service Providers?
Network Affiliates
Where you ask us to connect you with a Network Affiliate, or otherwise indicate that you wish to take up a Network Affiliate Offer, you authorise and consent to us disclosing to the relevant Network Affiliate your contact details and other information reasonably necessary to facilitate that introduction. Other than to make an introduction you have requested, we do not provide your personal information to a Network Affiliate. Once we have made the introduction, the Network Affiliate’s further handling of your personal information is governed by its own privacy practices, which we encourage you to review before engaging
with a Network Affiliate Offer.
Service Providers
Where you purchase a Service Provider Package, we disclose your personal information to the relevant Service Provider to the extent reasonably necessary for that Service Provider to perform the services comprising the
Service Provider Package.
TradieVolt engages each Service Provider as its subcontractor, and remains responsible to you for the supply of the Service Provider Package in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. Stripe and other payment processors If necessary, we disclose payment-related personal information to Stripe, our third-party payment processor, to facilitate payment of Fees. Stripe (and any other payment provider we engage) handles that information under its own terms and privacy practices, which we encourage you to review separately.
Does TradieVolt disclose your personal information overseas?
In operating our business, we engage contracted personnel, including virtual assistants based in the Philippines, to assist with functions such as customer support, document production and administrative support, and onboarding coordination. This means your personal information may be disclosed to, and accessed from, overseas.
We may also disclose personal information to other overseas recipients, including Stripe (which may process and store information in the United States and other countries in which Stripe or its affiliates operate) and third-party cloud hosting or storage providers who may hold information on servers located outside Australia.
Before disclosing personal information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps, as required by Australian Privacy Principle 8 of the Privacy Act, to ensure that the recipient does not breach the Australian Privacy Principles (other than Australian Privacy Principle 1) in relation to that information. This includes requiring our offshore contractors, including our virtual assistants in the Philippines, to handle personal information under written contract in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Under section 16C of the Privacy Act, TradieVolt may remain accountable for an act or practice of an overseas recipient that would otherwise breach the Australian Privacy Principles, as if that act or practice were TradieVolt’s own, unless an exception in Australian Privacy Principle 8.2 applies (for example, because you have consented to the disclosure after being told that Australian Privacy Principle 8.1 will not apply to that disclosure).
How does TradieVolt hold your personal information?
We store information in paper-based files or other electronic record-keeping methods in secure databases, including trusted third-party storage and hosting providers based in Australia and overseas (see ‘Does TradieVolt disclose your personal information overseas?’ above). MyVolt is hosted by a third-party hosting provider. Personal information may be collected in paper-based documents and converted to electronic form for use or storage, with the original paper-based documents either archived or securely destroyed. We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
We maintain physical security over paper and electronic data stores, such as through locks and security systems at our premises. We also maintain computer and network security, for example firewalls and other security systems such as user identifiers and passwords to control access to our computer systems and MyVolt.
Our websites do not necessarily use encryption or other technologies to ensure the secure transmission of information via the internet. Users of our websites are encouraged to exercise care in sending personal information via the internet.
We take steps to destroy or de-identify information that we no longer require, subject to the document retention periods described in our Terms and Conditions.

If you opt out of receiving marketing material from us, we may still contact you in relation to our ongoing relationship with you, including about your Subscription, Credits, Customer Documents or MyVolt account.
With your consent under our Terms and Conditions, we may also use your business name, logo and testimonials to identify you as a TradieVolt customer and to promote our products and services, including on our website, in MyVolt, and in case studies and other marketing materials. You may ask us to stop a particular marketing use of this kind at any time by contacting us, and we will do so within a reasonable time.

You will not be charged for making a request to access your personal information, but you may be charged for the reasonable time and expense incurred in compiling information in response to your request.
We will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up to date. You can help us to do this by letting us know if you notice errors or discrepancies in information we hold about you, and by letting us know if your personal details change.

We may decline your request to access or correct your personal information in certain circumstances in accordance with the APPs. If we do refuse your request, we will provide you with a reason for our decision and, in the case of a request for correction, we will include a statement with your personal information about the requested correction.
